The Temple of Isis was moved from Philae to higher ground on Agilkia Island before the waters behind the Aswan dams could claim it.
The careful reconstruction makes the rescue almost invisible. The temple is approached by boat, allowing its pylons and colonnades to emerge gradually from the island landscape.
